I can’t believe how fast this app has become a must have tool for me.
First, while the Fluid Browser app is primarily a floating web browser, it does let you drag-n-drop in videos, pictures, and even PDF files into the browser window. This means if you are following along in a training course, viewing a shortcuts guide, or watching a TV show, you can do it all while working with your main application.
Second, the trick to using Fluid is to turn on the transparency (even minimally) so that it floats over your over apps and work.
Once you’ve setup the content you want in the Fluid Browser, set your level of transparency, and switch back to whatever app you’re working with. Everything you do from then on that requires mouse or keyboard interaction (that would normally be seen as clicks inside the Fluid app window) is passed through to the main application or document you are working with. In other words, the mouse and keyboard don’t affect it while it’s not the foreground app.
A brilliant and simple app that’s getting better and better very fast.
